Ten people, including seven policemen, have been killed and 13 others injured Thursday in a blast that occurred during a raid conducted by security forces against a terrorist group hiding in the Egyptian district of Giza, near Cairo, the official daily Ahram reported on its website.

The explosion occurred as police were trying to defuse a bomb found in an apartment used as a cache by a terrorist group in the Mariotya district of Giza.

The blast also wounded 13 persons, including two who are in critical condition.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Interior, the security forces raided on the apartment after learning that a terrorist group was hiding there.
