Twelve Yakutumba militia fighters were killed near Lake Tanganyika in South Kivu in fighting between the militant group and the the According to the commander of the 1004th Army regiment Colonel Jaguar Rutarara, five other MayiMayi Yakutumba have also been captured. An assessment disputed by the militiamen.

One of the captured militiamen  revealed a large cache of heavy weapons and ammunition belonging to the Yakutumba coalition in Fizi.

On the front line, the FARDC say they have set up their operational headquarters at Kadimiya to control the north and south of the area.

Pacific Mutiki, the Yakutumba spokesman, said his group had killed eight soldiers in the fighting, while simultaneously denying the loss of any of his soldiers.
